savour. Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit features vegan tasting menus from Mexico’s leading vegan chef, Miguel Batista, the co-founder and Executive Chef of Vegan Planet. Culinary travelers can enjoy these specialty dishes at the resort’s four AAA Four Diamond restaurants serving French, Italian, Asian and Mexican gourmet cuisine. savasana. Nestled on the edge of Banderas Bay, surrounded by the majestic Sierra Madre Mountains, Grand Velas is set on long, beautiful beach. Outdoor yoga on the gazebo is magic, especially when you get to lie down for savasana and listen to the waves. After the yoga sessions, staff is on hand with silver trays to offer freshly-squeezed cleansing juices with cucumber, ginger and greens. There’s also a table set out for each session with infused-water and fresh fruit. It’s like Wanderlust but more intimate, no crowds and five-star service.
spa. One of the resort’s newest offerings is Facial Yoga. This up-and-coming fitness trend focuses on exercises specific to face muscles that naturally tighten, tone and brighten the face. It’s reported to help you look 3 years younger. It involves sitting across from an esthetician and mirroring her as she takes you through muscle movements using your tongue, fingers and stretching your neck. The Grand Velas Se Spa is a highly-innovative destination, one that has been included on Forbes Travel Guide’s list of The World’s Most Luxurious Spas. They have more than 30 spa treatments, including the best massage I’ve ever had in my life, as well as many inspired by the native traditions of Mexico and a signature water journey.
