We shared a bottle of Glenmorangie 10 Year Old Original Scotch Whisky with a new friend, who used to guide tourists in Africa and is a scuba diving instructor. Glenmorangie 10 Year Old Original Scotch Whisky is a single malt scotch, meaning that it is produced in one Scottish factory (i.e., it’s not blended with whiskies from other factories). Its distinctive label is bright orange. We would argue that the nose, as well, smells of oranges. We also detected almonds, and flowers. The smell is overall bright and of decent complexity for this younger single malt. There’s nothing missing, and nothing to remove. The taste is very smooth, with no spice. The scotch has a pleasant creaminess, with an aftertaste of almonds. Whisky is both a luxury product and an indulgence. Glenmorangie 10 Year Old Original meets those expectations in a way that would not overwhelm a whisky beginner.
