Ladurée’s new holiday collection has a decidedly local theme: Canada and, specifically, the Canadian winter. The offerings include limited-edition macaron boxes, exclusive flavours and new additions to the brand’s exquisite Bûche de Noël and Bûchette de Noël collection.
Ladurée collaborated with renowned Montréal pastry chef Patrice Demers to create two new Canadian-inspired desserts: a maple pecan pie macaron and this year’s signature Bûche de Noël, the Atoca. The Atoca draws on Demers’ childhood memories and features maple syrup, cranberries, buckwheat and dark chocolate (other flavours are available as well). The entire Bûche de Noël (from $68 and suitable for six to eight people) and individual Bûchette de Noël (from $11.50) collection will be available in December, along with macaron holiday boxes (from $35) that feature a green and gold maple leaf and pine branch design to evoke Canada’s natural beauty. Chocolate-coated macarons ($3.90 each) and personalized macarons with printed text or artwork are also available this year.
