Hi Sam! How do you use your platform to impact those who follow you?
My goal and hope is to use my platform and voice to relate, inspire and elevate the lives of my readers. I am constantly inspired by what I see online and hope to do the same in the content that I put out on my blog, videos and Instagram account. My hope is that whoever comes to my blog or social channels, that they feel inspired to think outside the box, to do something new and to be comfortable in who they are and not take life too seriously. We all need a laugh!
What’s your personal style mantra?
I call my style something that consistently evolves. My style is very feminine, but I also am beginning to enjoy street style and more comfortable looks, too. I love heels as much as I love sneakers. As I grow, I find that I like to experiment more with different looks and trends. I think style is ever changing and you should never stop playing dress up.
O, Christmas! Are you a holly jolly junkie? What’s your favourite thing about this time of year—and some of your favourite festive season things to do in Vancouver?
I TOTES AM! Growing up, my family made every celebration really special and so I grew up loving any and every reason to celebrate. Christmas is my favourite holiday! There’s something about the energy and joy in the air. Christmas always gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling—ah the music and movies, too. It’s a great time to look back over the year, through good and bad and still find a reason to celebrate. It’s also a time to reconnect and spend time with your loved ones. In terms of festive "to dos," I love the Vancouver Christmas Market—it’s a lot of fun and there’s always great food!
We all know ’tis the season to give: what’s your fave type of gift to give … and do you give back in any way during the Christmas season?
Everyone has a love language and my love language is gifts. Gifts in time and material gifts. My favourite thing about Christmas is personalizing each gift I purchase for the individual so it really depends on who it is and what they like/how much I know them. I do love giving back during the season. Union Gospel Mission in Vancouver does incredible things for those in need on the DTES and are always looking for volunteers to help out. They do annual meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas so I definitely suggest checking them out if you’re interested.
Christmas wish time: what is at the very top of your personal gift list?
OK, I have a couple—ha ha! I started collecting Vinyl records last year and love Queen, so some Queen vinyls would be cool. The DJI Osmo Pocket is also on the top of my list. It’s so cute and compact for videos. I saw my friend use it when we were travelling and the quality is great. Oh, and anything from Mejuri basically.
