Now that dry January is officially over, we’re really looking forward to this celebration: February 22nd is National Margarita Day! It’s a full day to honour the sixth most-popular cocktail in the world (and during a time when we Canadians need the tropical-island inspo that the margarita provides), and we’ve got three amazing recipes, courtesy of Tequila Herradura Silver (which launches in Canada this month), that you can make at home. —Vita Daily
Herradura Horseshoe Margarita
2 oz Herradura Silver
1 oz fresh lime juice
0.5-0.75 oz agave (to taste)
Shake all ingredients and pour into a salted rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel.
Spicy Pineapple Margarita
1.5 oz Herradura Silver
0.5 oz Cointreau
0.75 oz fresh lime juice
0.5 oz pineapple juice
0.25 oz agave nectar
3-4 dashes Scrappy Habanero bitters
Shake all ingredients and pour into a salted rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a fresh pineapple wedge.
Cucumber Mint Margarita
2 oz Herradura Silver
1 oz fresh lime juice
0.5-0.75 agave nectar (to taste)
2 cucumber wheels
4 mint leaves
Muddle mint and cucumber in a cocktail shaker. Add remaining ingredients and shake then strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with a mint sprig and fresh cucumber wheel.
