5 Steps to Rejuvenated Springtime Skin

March 5, 2020

Spring is always full of excitement. The warmer mornings and lovely days are great reasons to spend more time outside the house, meeting with friends or doing exciting things around town. Looking beautiful and keeping the skin healthy for those occasions is easy, too. You can keep your skin fresh and healthy by taking simple steps. If you want that rejuvenated springtime skin pop while keeping your daily beauty routines simple, here are the five steps you need to take right now:

spring skin

spring cleaning.  Just like doing some spring cleaning around the house, the beginning of the season is the perfect time to give your skin some pampering. A nice treatment that exfoliates the skin after winter is always highly recommended. The dryness of winter tends to cause dry skin buildup, and the best way to eliminate that buildup is with a deep and exfoliating treatment. This is also something you can do on your own, especially now that there are products designed to exfoliate the skin in a gentler and safer way. When opting for home beauty products, however, don’t expect the perfect result after one try. You may have to repeat the treatment several times before the dry skin buildup is completely removed.

switch to li ghter moisturizer. The next thi ng you want to do is switch to a lighter moisturizing cream. Adding a layer of thick moisturizing cream in the winter is recommended because the cream also provides additional protection while keeping your skin healthy and flexible. Taking the same approach in spring, however, will increase dullness and lowers flexibility. What you want instead is a thin layer of light cream that provides sufficient moisture to the skin. Alternatively, you can also use a moisturizing BB cream or foundation for when you need to apply more makeup. You can also switch to a face serum with vitamin C, especially one that contains a lot of antioxidants, to achieve the same effect.

apply a serum. Speaking of face serum with vitamin C, adding a serum to your daily beauty routine is certainly recommended. Spring means spending more time outdoors, and that means exposing your skin to more of the elements. There is nothing wrong with providing your skin with additional nutrients so that it stays healthy and beautiful. As an added step, you can also use a sheet mask periodically. A lot of sheet masks are designed with special ingredients—mostly natural ones—and specific benefits, so choose the ones that suit you best. You can start with the problems you face as you transition from winter to spring, and then find sheet masks that help you solve those problems.

light makeup only. Lighter makeup works best in the spring. After all, spring is very relaxed and laid back, and excessive makeup isn’t something you want for the season. Rather than wearing a thick foundation, for example, you can switch to a lighter BB cream with SPF 30 UV protection. That last part is also important. Your skin will be exposed to more UV rays, so you want to increase your sun protection. If your makeup and beauty products don’t contain SPF 25 or 30 protection, then you want to add a layer of sunscreen to get the protection you need.

hydrate! Last, but certainly not least, make sure drinking a lot of water is part of your everyday routine, especially in spring. Hydrate at night before going to sleep and use products like sleeping creams to help moisturize your skin in the evening.

These five steps will help you get that rejuvenated skin pop look for spring. The season may be challenging for the skin, but you actually have a lot of ways to keep your skin healthy. —Vita Daily
