The Yukon Book Club

July 3, 2020

Until it’s ready to welcome back the rest of the world (lucky B.C. residents will be admitted into the territory beginning July 1st, 2020), Tourism Yukon is introducing a new virtual way for everyone to "escape" the everyday and experience the unique character of this increasingly popular global destination.

The Yukon has been the setting of countless classic novels throughout literary history. If you can’t visit the Yukon this summer (or to help get you in the mood for your upcoming journey), you’re invited to visit the Yukon Book Club virtually. Tourism Yukon has selected some of the best classic and contemporary fiction set in the Yukon, and is making these books (including The Call of the Wild by Jack London and Strange Things Done by Elle Wild) available for download online.

Readers will gain a deeper understanding of the locations described in the books, thanks to interactive story maps that offer photos, expert historical information, and more. Talk about a literary adventure! —Vita Daily
