If you asked LGBTQ2S Canadians to describe what “home” means to them, they may say welcoming, safe, and accepting. A place that’s open to laughter, as well as tears. Somewhere they can embrace the fullness and possibility of life. A space where everyone can be themselves.
In this spirit, Ikea Canada is calling on us to “be someone’s home”—to create, through word and deed, spaces where all LGBTQ2S people are safe and free to be their whole selves. For its part, the Swedish furiture maker is proudly supporting Pride-related activities nationwide throughout the year and, as part of that commitment, is offering limited-edition rainbow Storstomma reusable bags for sale online and in-store ($1.49 for a small bag, $1.99 for a large). All proceeds will go to Pflag Canada, whose mission is supporting LGBTQ2S Canadians and their families in communities from coast to coast to coast.
Now this is one bag we’ll be carrying with pride! —Vita Daily
