Yves Saint Laurent Beauty has launched a new campaign that isn’t centred around a creamy lipstick or vibrant eye colour; rather, it’s about helping to combat intimate partner violence (IPV) in the leadup to the UN’s International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
With approximately one in three women experiencing IPV in their lifestime—not to mention, the fact that many women living in lockdown with an abusive partner have been unable to seek support during COVID-19—the brand’s Abuse is Not Love program aims to assist by supporting prevention programs around the world and training its own employees and beauty advisors on IPV in the workplace.
Brand ambassadors Dua Lipa and Zoe Kravitz are supportive, with Kravitz saying, “Today, I’m prouder than ever to be a part of the YSL Beauty family and I look forward to working on this project together to fight against this abuse.” We are, too. —Vita Daily
