Tasting Notes: Sobrii

November 24, 2020

This is not our first rodeo with non-alcoholic gin. Sobrii’s bottle promises “Juniper – Coriander – Start Anise – Allspice – Ginseng.” Let’s take a whiff!

The nose is earthy and reminds us of eucalyptus. It also reminds us of the smell of various areas in B.C.’s Lower Mainland where one finds massive storages of wood chips and planks. It’s an extremely pleasant and somewhat calming aroma. There’s a slight note of citrus as well.

The taste has a lovely acidity, notes of apple, maple and grapefruit. It is delicious and refreshing. We certainly never tasted alcoholic gin that was so pleasant to drink. By the same token, when it comes to flavour, we can easily see Sobrii as an advantageous replacement for alcoholic gin, in any cocktail. Guillaume Garih
