The Ultimate Holiday Gift Replaces Virtually All Your Current Kitchen Appliances (Win!)

December 7, 2020

Countertop clutter (not to mention, food-prep frustration) is a problem for many—so why not gift family and friends (or yourself!) a tool that will clear the issue? The Thermomix TM6 delivers a state-of-the-art cooking experience—and replaces virtually all kitchen appliances, outside of an oven and a toaster, by performing 22 culinary functions and walking users through 50,000-plus global recipes step-by-step. It even comes with access to a personal consultant—like Beatrix Knoll, who we chatted with to answer all our burning (but definitely not burnt) questions about this cutting-edge culinary machine! —Vita Daily

Hi Beatrix! What makes the TM6 the ultimate kitchen appliance?

I basically consider my TM6 as my personal sous chef. No other appliance can do all of the amazing features that the TM6 is able to do. It really has replaced my kettle, slow cooker, blender, food processor, stand mixer, grater, sous vide and yogurt maker, to name a few. It has freed up cupboard space and looks so elegant on my kitchen counter. From being able to create the most simple recipes to the most finicky and complex dishes with one single appliance, my cooking and baking has once again become effortless, fun and exciting!

So, what’s new and exciting about the new TM6?

There are so many new and exciting features to talk about with the TM6. There is a reason it’s called The World’s Smartest Kitchen. Not only does the TM6 now have a larger digital touch screen, you can also activate many new modes or functions such as high temperature cooking for sauteing, caramelizing, sous vide, slow cooking and fermentation mode to make the most delectable and healthy yogurt. The coolest feature, bar none, is Cookidoo, the world’s largest digital cookbook with access to over 60,000 recipes from around the world. Thanks to the built-in Wi-Fi and continuous upgrades, you can menu plan, create recipe collections and shopping lists with ease. Cookidoo can be accessed via any digital device, which makes cooking at home that much simpler!

Twenty-two culinary functions: wow! What are some of the top cooking methods people use the Thermomix TM6 for?

It really is unbelievable and this is where the magic of Thermomix lies. In my experience, people are drawn to the versatility of being able to toast and grind their own spices to make the most aromatic and freshest curries, as an example. The possibilities really are endless. Customers also pride themselves in being able to make their own stock pastes, fresh organic butter and homemade custards in less than 20 minutes. Let’s not forget that people want to provide their families with quick nutritious meals—this is where 3 level cooking really draws people in. People love being able to cook rice, steam fish and veggies all at the same time, and have dinner on the table in about 30 minutes.

We hear this machine will walk us through more than 50,000 global recipes step-by-step on the Cookidoo platform! How does this work, and what are some of users’ favourite dishes to make?

The integration of Cookidoo, the world’s largest digital online recipe catalogue, has really stepped up my game in the kitchen. Cookidoo can be accessed via the web, on any digital device, and directly through the Wi-Fi enabled touch display. You can search for recipes by ingredients, categories, preparation or total cooking time, portion sizes, allergy and dietary needs, country or even languages. There are also a ton of collections, or recipe books, that will entice you to try even the most complicated of recipes. Within the Cookidoo platform, you can then create shopping lists and meal plans. Once you are ready to cook your meal, the guided cooking feature will direct you step-by-step from start to finish; it will tell you which ingredients to add in order and how much to add according to weight, thanks to the build-in scale. As you work your way through the recipe, the TM6 will chop, grind, mill, blend, mix, whisk, sautée, steam, knead, purée or thicken as required. You can even manually adjust the length of time the TM6 performs these functions as per your own personalized likes. Some recipes even have a guided video to help make your cooking experience that much better. In my experience, people are drawn to refreshing lemonade, butter, fragrant curries, fresh pizza, risotto, chicken and vegetable stock pastes, creamy chicken and cauliflower soup, yogurt, and a light and fluffy, yet refreshing, Berry Foam! Seeing is believing when it comes to the TM6!

How does the Wi-Fi connectivity work to enhance the cook experience?

The TM6 has the integration and versatility of Wi-Fi. Through your Cookidoo subscription/account, you can search for recipes, bookmark them, create your own collections and add them to the weekly calendar. Just like magic, they sync directly to your TM6, as long as you are signed in to your Cookidoo account. Then, when you are ready to create magic in the kitchen, you can easily bring up your calendar, bookmarks or recipe collections on the large screen of your TM6 and start cooking. In addition, you do not need to have a super strong wifi connection in order to use the functionality of this feature.

Aesthetically speaking, what makes the Thermomix TM6 a tool we can be proud of displaying on our kitchen counter?

The TM6 is a really pretty appliance that not only looks elegant, but takes up as little space as your conventional blender. The sleek stainless steel bowl and the shiny white base with a large 6.8″ display makes this appliance fit into any style kitchen. I constantly get asked about my Thermomix whenever friends come over for a visit. The TM6 is also really easy to keep clean. It’s definitely not an appliance that I store in my cupboards as I am proud to show it off!

Easy cleanup is always a must; how does the Thermomix TM6 perform in this department?

I hate doing dishes or cleaning up after making creations in the kitchen. The last thing I want to do is stand at my kitchen sink soaking and scrubbing pots and pans, or bowls. With the TM6, one of the many built-in functions is the Pre-cleaning mode, which automatically adjusts the time needed based on how soiled the mixing bowl is. You can actually choose between 4 pre-clean modes: dough, universal, fat and caramel, and browning. The base of the mixing bowl and blade can also be removed to make cleaning up that much easier and enjoyable. All parts and accessories are dishwasher safe, just not the actual appliance.

What services are provided by expert Thermomix consultants?

I love my job because I get to share my passion for cooking with so many people. Independent consultants provide fun and interactive in-home/virtual cooking experiences to a host and a few friends, a delicious and unique 5 senses experience. During these cooking experiences, we go over the ins and outs of the appliance and create delicious foods to demonstrate just how Thermomix can help you to cook quick, easy, healthy meals for your family, while also saving money. As consultants, we also provide continuous aftersales customer service, cooking classes and we really pride ourselves in making lifelong friendships and connections with people who are also passionate about cooking.

Finally, what makes the Thermomix TM6 the ultimate holiday gift?

In today’s ever changing world, more and more people are working from home, eating in and cooking meals with families, and looking for ways to save money and time. Staying healthy and stress-free is also of utmost importance to many people today. The TM6 is bringing families together once again—kids will enjoy helping in the kitchen and can even take pride in the meals they make themselves with the help of guided cooking. This amazing kitchen appliance will turn any amateur and home cook into a professional chef!

    December 8th, 2020 at 11:20 am

I cook by recipe so, when this pandemic hit, it was difficult to do that. The menu was very limited that rice with frozen mixed vegetables or kimchi, fried egg on top with sesame oil, sesame seeds, tamari sauce, doubanjiang and miso soup became my default survival food. I was just grateful to have food to eat.
I did miss making soups, beverages and baking desserts when my food processor-blender-mixer from Braun died last year. It was made in Germany and lasted more than 20 years. As someone who cooks from scratch, cleanup can take more than an hour as there are many items to wash, dry and put away. Having just one machine to do it all sounds like it can reduce the number of pots and pans, equipment and tools that I use in preparing and cooking food. I was surprised that this Thermomix can do more than 20 functions like, grinding spices. I use the coffee grinder from Cuisinart to grind sesame seeds for my ramen and other spices in lieu of a spice grinder. You can check the meals I’ve eaten that I’ve cooked at home at @megenciel. As an apartment dweller, space is limited so, the 3-in-1 Braun was very practical for me. I definitely maximizzed its functionality while it lasted so, I’ll be sure to do the same should I win the TM6. Thanks for this timely giveaway and posting your interview with Beatrix Knoll. I think having access to her as a personal consultant is a bonus that’s very welcome to have for any home cook.
