tourtière. Often served on Christmas Eve, this French Canadian meat pie is traditionally made with ground pork and a savoury blend of spices. Get an eight-inch pie at Granville Island’s L’Epicerie Gourmande for $20.
panettone. Warm up this Milanese sweet bread with candied orange peel and raisins on Christmas morning served with hot coffee. Edmonton’s best Italian family-owned Pasticceria, Canova, ships its Panettone for $18 across Canada.
brandy beans. A German tradition, these Connoisseur Brandy Beans are rather-addictive dark chocolates filled with spirits by Canadian candy brand Waterbridge—$7 for a 400-gram box.
egg nog. Vancouver’s The Stock Market sells its delicious homemade egg nog from December 11 through the holidays, $6.50 per 500ml. Free delivery with a $50 purchase, so stock up on turkey stuffing and gravy while you’re ordering that nog.
cracked crab.
