Vicki’s Top 6 Beauty Picks For January

January 29, 2021

It’s no secret to my editor, readers or Sephora sales associates that I am a bit of a beauty enthusiast. Whether it’s a new cosmetic brand or an innovative new skin-care formula, I want to try it all. Here are some products that made an impression in January among the dozens of beauty products I’ve been able to try this month. —Vicki Duong

neostrata triple firming neck cream. When it comes to combating fine lines and wrinkles, we gotta focus on more than just the skin on our face. I have been loving Neostrata Triple Firming Neck Cream ($98) for optimal firming for my decolletage and neck, while leaving a light and pleasant scent. The cream is lightweight yet moisturizing and leaves skin looking more toned.

makeup by mario metallic palette. Metallics are made easy with the new Master Metallics shadow palette ($64) from Makeup by Mario. The palette comes with 12 chromatic shades that apply pigmented with barely any fallout and stays put for hours. I love that the shadows can be applied dry for a light wash of colour, or with a wet brush for a full-coverage application.

charlotte tilbury happikiss. Perfect for when I am at my most indecisive, new Happikiss ($39) from Charlotte Tilbury is a lipstick balm with hydrating properties and a tint of colour. With hyaluronic acid and c-peptide, each application leaves lips juicy and feeling deeply nourished. My personal faves are the shade Happipeach for a peachy hue and the classic Pillow Talk.

total results miss mess. While freshly washed hair may feel great, it can be a bit of a nightmare to style. Total Results Miss Mess ($20) is the perfect way to add a bit of grit and light hold to your tresses to aid in any hairdo. The formula leaves no sticky residue, only grit with a matte finish, making it the perfect pairing for daily use.

lush beauty sleep mask. When it comes to natural face masks, Lush is seemingly the authority. New to the lineup is Beauty Sleep ($17) designed with dry and sensitive skin in mind. With soothing fresh coconut and moisturizing honey, there is something extra special about the new Lush mask: a dollop of the brand’s bestselling moisturizer, Gorgeous.

fresh beauty kombucha treatment. Not only is kombucha good for your gut, it’s good for your pores, too. I’ve been using the new Kombucha Cleansing Treatment ($58) from Fresh for additional luminosity and smoothness to my skin. The treatment is a one-step cleanser that can be used to remove makeup while kombucha defends from pollution stressors.
