You Can’t Go Wrong With Pizza + Peroni For Valentine’s Day

Hello Marc! Please tell us a bit about yourself to start.

I have been cooking professionally for the last 16 years. I moved from Calgary originally to attend cooking school in Vancouver and haven’t looked back. Before starting with the Kitchen Table restaurant group about a year ago, the majority of my career was spent in seafood restaurants around Vancouver but lately my love for Italian Cuisine has really taken off.

In creating Valentine’s Day specials for Pizzeria Farina, how did you come up with the perfect love-inspired toppings?

We wanted to show love and homage to the Lombardy region, where Peroni is from. Their style of cuisine is everything I love, cream sauces, pork and beer!

In the same vein, in creating any special-edition pizzas, where does your inspiration usually come from?

I pull inspiration from classic Italian dishes, adding a little pizza spin on each one.

What makes Peroni a perfect accompaniment to pizza? What other sips would work well with an authentic Italian pizza pie?

It’s light crisp flavour, so refreshing! Who doesn’t like ice cold Italian beer with pizza! Negroni or aperol spritz!
