It may be the shortest month of the year, but this February yielded an abundance of products to discover. This month I focused on saving my skin (despite, or due to, the polar vortex we experienced in Vancouver) and finding a new scent and lip balm to add to my rotation. Here are some of the products that made an impression this month. —Vicki Duong

dermalogica daily microfoliant exfoliator. When it comes to exfoliation, I prefer to keep things gentle and simple. This Dermalogica exfoliator ($83) is a gentle, rice-based powder that helps clear clogged pores to enhance skin’s texture without being as abrasive as other physical exfoliants. The product itself is a fine powder that you mix into a paste with the addition of water. Bonus: it’s a wonder on sensitive skin!

roc skincare multi correxion revive + glow daily serum. With colder temps, it’s no wonder my skin has been feeling and looking more dull. I have been loving the RoC Skincare Multi Correxion Revive + Glow Daily Serum ($33) for my daily dose of vitamin C. After one use I saw brighter skin and, with continuous use, improved skin texture and better moisture retention.

tata harper water-lock moisturizer. One of the downsides of constantly trying new products is the excess product waste, which is why Tata Harper Water-Lock Moisturizer ($90) is innovative, not just in formula but in packaging. Available in refill sizes, each cup is good for a month, and swapping to the refill cups saves 11 jars per year.

moroccanoil volumizing mist. I originally discovered Moroccanoil Volumizing Mist ($32) at a blowout appointment and have been a fan since. The mist provides a lightweight hold with that signature Moroccanoil scent all while providing natural lift and body. It also adds strength back into my tresses for that fresh-out-of-the-salon feel.

quo avocado lip balm. Recently revamped, the entire Quo Beauty collection has been reformulated with new products dropping often, the latest being an Avocado Lip Balm ($10). With a slight tint, this formula contains avocado oil to add a hit of moisturize and shea butter to sooth, while leaving a soft wash of colour. My fave: the Coral Crush shade!

nudestix x mala the brand candles. While this technically isn’t a beauty product, it is a limited-edition collab from a beauty brand that I’ve been loving. Partnering with Vancouver’s Mala the Brand, Nudestix is offering two exclusive scents, Lavender & Coconut and Lemongrass & Coconut ($28 each). Formulated to invoke a spa-like experience, each scent is designed to de-stress in Mala’s signature candle tins, designed to be reused and reloved.
