Vicki’s March Beauty Favourites

March 25, 2021

Spring has sprung, which means it’s time to switch up my beauty routine. As the weather gets warmer and the days get longer, brands begin to launch their new collections and I want to try it all! For the month of March, here are some of my favourite new releases and must-try products. —Vicki Duong

hairitage lazy day dry shampoo. Popular YouTuber and hair-care expert Mindy McKnight enters the retail space with her line Hairitage, designed to suit a large range of hair types and textures. My absolute favourite product from the collection is the Lazy Day Dry Shampoo ($12). The formula is sulfate and aluminum free, with rice starch that gives hair that freshly washed look without irritating your scalp.

flexitol heel magic. While it may not be sandal season yet, we can prep (and dream!) in the meantime. Enter Flexitol Heel Magic ($16), an easy to use stick applicator designed for rough feet. Ultra-moisturizing ingredients like shea butter and olive oil work to combat dry heels, showing results within three days with regular application.

juice beauty stem cellular cc cream. SPF is a daily must-have for me but, when the weather gets warmer, I like to swap out my winter sun protection for something that also adds a bit of glow. Available in a range of radiant shades, Juice Beauty CC Cream ($51) not only leaves a glowy complexion but provides SPF 30 protection. Bonus: Juice Beauty is certified clean at Sephora!

c’est moi gentle foaming cleansing gel. In trying new products on the daily, my skin can be a little less than happy so I try to keep my daily routine as gentle as possible. New to the Canadian market, C’est Moi’s Gentle collection has been a godsend. I’ve been using the Foaming Cleansing Gel ($16) as my go-to. The cleanser is fragrance free; it leaves my skin feeling balanced and calm without stripping and irritation.

ardell professional extensions fx. Ever want to try falsies but find they don’t suit your eyes? Fret no longer: Ardell has you lashed. The new Extensions collection ($11/pair) guarantees you find the best-suited lash curl for your eye shape. For monolid and hooded eyes there are L-shapes, while deep-set and almond eyes should wear a B-curl for the most flattering shape.

danessa myricks beauty colorfix pigment. Nail two trends at once with MUA Danessa Myrick’s new beauty collection and her Colorfix Pigments ($24). The first trend is a monochromatic makeup look; the pigments can be used on eyes, lip or cheek and come in three different finishes, high shine, metallic and matte. The second trend is that of mixing your own products, and these pigments are meant to be mixed to create custom finishes and shades. My personal favourite is the high-shine Kaleidoscope: a clear gloss with fine glitter.

lush cosmetics funfetti cake lip scrub. Have your cake and eat it too with this limited-edition lip scrub ($13) from Lush’s Easter collection. Funfetti Cake uses sugar to gently exfoliate and jojoba oil keeps your peckers moisturized. Not only does it smell just like vanilla frosting, but the addition of icing sugar makes it taste like cake as well! You don’t have to feel guilty for indulging; Lush has formulated its lip scrubs to be licked off once applied to the lips!
