14 Places To Get Vancouver Easter Dinner To-Go

With new B.C. “short-circuit” restrictions in place, restaurants are closed for in-person indoor dining until April 19th—luckily, Easter dinner take-out or delivery is still a great option, and some restaurants are offering patio seating. Here’s who to check out so you can celebrate the season, safely. Catherine Dunwoody

Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts Easter Dinner To-Go, $45 per person, is available for pre-order now and pick-up Saturday, April 3rd and Sunday, April 4th. Includes traditional hot cross buns, smoked salmon, maple-bourbon-glazed ham with seasonal accompaniments and a molten chocolate cake, plus mini chocolate Easter eggs.

Two of the city’s favourite downtown restaurants, Hy’s Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar and Gotham Steakhouse & Bar, have created dinner-for-four packages ($395) so you can still have a family Easter meal. Available from March 30th to April 5th, Hy’s includes its signature cheese toast, Caesar salad, Chateaubriand and white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. Gotham’s feast ($325) includes a fresh citrus salad, roast leg of lamb and spring succotash, and a pavlova to finish. Order for takeout and delivery through Uber, Skip and Door Dash. 

The Lazy Gourmet, one of the city’s most loved caterers, is set up for delivery or pick up with its seven-course Easter Menu At-Home ($45 per person) that includes a spring pea salad, stuffed turkey breasts, seared B.C. cod, or a vegetarian option. A variety of sides and Party In Bloom cupcake round the meal off. The Easter Grazing Box for Two ($95) features a chicken saltimbocca lolly, carrot lox on buckwheat blini, maple glazed salmon, mustard herb lamp pop, and cured meats, olives, cheese, bread and dips.

Aburi Restaurants celebrates the arrival of cherry blossom season with new spring menus starting April 1st, and here’s what their 3 restaurants have lined up. Miku’s new Silky White Chocolate Mousse and two Sakura cocktails inspired by Empress Masako celebrate the second Sakura festival of the new Reiwa Era in Japan. Minami’s Easter Weekend Premium Zen ($49) runs April 2nd to 5th for lunch, loaded with appetizers, sushi, Aburi sushi and a Coconut Mango Mousse for dessert. Gyoza Bar has put together Chicken Menchi Katsu Bento To-Go ($11.50) with Marukatsu-style Chicken Menchi Katsu, green salad, sliced cabbage with basil pesto, steamed rice and Sakuramochi—Sakura-leaf wrapped mochi with azuki bean paste.

Further with Asian offerings this weekend, try Potluck Hawker Eatery for a Whole Dungeness Crab Feasts to-go.  

Granville Island’s The Sandbar is lovely for brunch, and we’re drooling over the sound of Lobster Benedict or later for dinner with a Seafood Boil on Easter Sunday and Monday that includes mussels and clams, jumbo prawns and two lobster tails plus andouille sausage, potatoes and corn on the cob.  

Another waterfront hotspot, Cardero’s, is doing a special Easter Lamb Shank dish as well as Sunday Night Prime Rib, comfort sides like mashed potatoes,  vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and creamy horseradish. And for brunch, how about Green Eggs & Ham?

Classic Vancouver eatery Seasons in the Park has added Grilled Veal T-Bone & Prawns and a Crab Cake Benedict special on the brunch menu.

Five Sails in the Pan Pacific Hotel has a special Eggs and Caviar Brunch on Sunday, April 4th and Monday, April 5th, plus a feature champagne list and a gorgeous Easter champagne cocktail.

Trattoria is serving brunch on a platter for two ($25) that includes Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, Cinnamon Maple French toast with candied walnuts and Bacon, Meatballs, Forno Bread, Mista Salad and Trattoria Breakfast Potatoes. 

Glowbal Restaurant’s Easter Sunday brunch ($39 per person and half priced for kids under 12) includes mini donuts, fruit smoothie shooters, and cotton candy all courtesy of the Easter bunny.
