The swirly, colourful groovy tie-dye prints from the 1960s (and then ’70s, and then ’80s …) is back (again!), and this summer, we’re seeing tie-dye patterns from head to toe. Whether you love the look of having a tie-dye swirl in all the colours of the rainbow, or you’re more apt to prefer a two- or three-tone mix, tie-dye has never been more stylish and fashionable. Here are five tie-dye made-in-Canada fashions you’ll love. —Jennifer Cox
The Pink + Blue Tie-Dye Set from Oak & Pearl ($72) features a comfortable crew neck long sleeve top with matching shorts in a pretty tie-dye blend of colour. These sets are super cute and are the perfect thing for weekend wear or even nighttime sleeping.
Roots’ Camp Tie Dye Sweatpant ($98) has been tie-dyed by hand, making each design unique. These super comfy pants, made of soft cotton terry, have a relaxed slim fit along with open elastic cuffs, drawcords wrapped with colourful two-tone threads, and, of course, the iconic embroidered cooper beaver logo.
This Relaxed Colorwash Hat from Adidas Canada ($38) is available in three cool tie-dye colours but still has a straightforward sports design that the brand is known for. A pre-curved brim saves you the trouble of having to break it in, and an adjustable strap ensures the perfect fit.
Simons’ set of tie-dye scrunchies (set of 5, $10) come in soft hues that are perfect to style your hair every day. They feature a light weave over sturdy elastic, so they will never break and will always help keep your hairstyle in place.
These Tna tie-dye ankle socks from Artizia (pack of 3, $12) are made from a super soft and cozy combed-cotton blend. They have ribbed cuffs and terry-knit soles for added cushion and comfort. The spiral tie-dye pattern is done by hand, meaning no two designs are alike.
