October is here, and many folks are embarking on their annual “sober” challenge. Below, a mocktail, courtesy of our friends at Nuba, that you can mix up this month. —Vita Daily
El Mino Mocktail
1oz of turmeric and cardamom syrup (see recipe below)
1oz of lemon juice
.75oz freshly squeezed ginger
Citrus kombucha of choice (we use Raincoast Kombucha)
Ice
Turmeric & Cardamom Syrup (Yields 1 Cup)
1 Tbsp of cardamom
½ Tbsp of fresh turmeric
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
Bring the water to a boil in a pot. Place turmeric and cardamom in reusable/disposable tea bag. Place in one cup of water and steep for 5 minutes. Stir in the sugar until it is dissolved completely. Reduce heat and stir until the mixture has reduced to half its original volume (about ten minutes). Remove from heat and allow to cool somewhat. Pour into a very clean jar with a tight-fitting lid. Keep refrigerated.
To make the mocktail, stir syrup, lemon and ginger juice together in a short glass. Add ice. Top with kombucha of your choice.
