All Baked Treats, No Tricks

October 26, 2021

All that handing out Halloween candy to little wee ghosts and goblins is fun—and makes us zombie-hungry for grown-up treats. Keep a stash of these baked goodies on the kitchen counter just for you; you’ve earned it. Pre-order now. Share if you must. —Catherine Dunwoody

Freshly baked sugar cookies by The Bench Bakehouse on Commercial Drive are almost too pretty to eat. Almost. Ghosts, bats and Jack-o’-lanterns can be ordered for pickup now through October 31.

Mon Paris Pâtisserie in Burnaby has milk chocolate Jack-o’-lantern lollies filled with pumpkin spice caramel, a Jack-o’-lantern statue and scary howling wolf, and caramel truffles.

Halloween French macarons? Boo-oui-why not? This gift box from Laduree contains a mix of passionfruit, matcha, pistachio, salted caramel and chocolate flavours.

Coho Coffee  is baking up vegan “spider” cookies from Panela Lemon: vanilla oatmeal cookies with apple, stuffed with a creamy cinnamon spread, decorated with candy crawlies.

Beaucoup Bakery has monster bonbons, canelé, spiced pumpkin custard with a crispy exterior and creamy interior, and bone appetit croissants filled with a spiced pumpkin mascarpone cream, topped with honeycomb pieces.
