As isolation continues to impact local seniors, Home Instead in Vancouver is once again launching its longstanding Be A Santa to a Senior program, which supports older adults who may be overlooked, isolated or alone during the holiday season.
Going on its fifth year, this local program collects gifts from local Vancouver donors to share with older adults to remind them they are cherished by our community. Participate in this year’s program by visiting a Be a Santa to a Senior tree at one of two London Drugs locations: Hastings Sunrise location (2585 E Hastings Street) and
Woodwards building (351 Abbott Street). Ornaments will be on display, and each ornament includes a local senior’s gift request.
The gifts collected, which are often necessity items such as toiletries, clothing and blankets, make a big impact and help local seniors combat the holiday blues. —Vita Daily
