“Pink sky at night, sailors’ delight” has taken on new meaning ever since Pink Sky opened on King West, Toronto.
This latest collab between hospitality heavyweights Charles Khabouth and Hanif Harji merges hearty food, crafted cocktails and great design. The menu, built around the freshest of seafood and produce, makes ordering both challenging and a breeze (but you can’t really go wrong). Don’t skip the raw bar, offering up ceviche, crudo, tartare and oysters. Appetizers like smoked Ontario white fish and jumbo crab cakes keep it hearty and gorgeous; whole fish from the daily catch card, cooked simply over lively coals, is a star. There are some meat dishes if you’re after a surf-and-turf vibe, plus vegan and vegetarian options.
Whatever your pleasure, wash it down with a cocktail from the top-shelf bar; Apricot Juleps and Pink Negronis are tasty twists on old favourites, and alone are worth the trip. Make sure to stop by the very Insta-worthy outdoor wall mural for a pink-hued photo op. —Lauren Walker-Lee
