Want to welcome the Year of the Tiger in rare form? A bottle of one of the world’s rarest malt whiskies will be up for grabs in Vancouver this weekend, with a fierce price tag: $80,000.
The BC Liquor Store on Cambie will be holding an in-store draw for a chance to buy the bottle of The Dalmore Constellation Collection Vintage 1964 to mark the upcoming Lunar New Year. This rare drink, one of only 67 bottles produced, was aged for 46 years and is the last known remaining bottle worldwide. Expect creamy vanilla and honey notes, as well as orange, lavender and patchouli, plus hints of coffee and black forest fruits. Get your ballot for the in-store draw on January 29 at the BC Liquor Store at 5555 Cambie Street, near 39th Avenue. (note: you don’t have to be present at the time of the 2 p.m. draw to purchase; you’ll be notified directly if you’re the lucky winner).
Name not drawn? BCLS is also releasing five other Dalmore Constellation Collection whiskies, including The Dalmore Constellation 1971 Cask 2 ($28,000), The Dalmore Constellation 1972 Cask 1 ($29,000), The Dalmore Constellation 1973 Cask 10 ($26,000), The Dalmore Constellation 1979 Cask 594 ($11,500) and The Dalmore Constellation Collection 1981 Cask 3.
