In a collaboration as dramatic as the artist herself, Lady Gaga has partnered with the iconic Champagne Maison, Dom Pérignon, on a limited-edition bottling and, to much delight and fanfare, it is finally available. The custom motif designed by Gaga is rippling and shifting; the stunning limited-edition bottles are an ode to creativity.
“Lady Gaga and Dom Pérignon, two creators who believe in the power of absolute creative freedom, invite you to a fabulous, exuberant, exhilarating celebration—a joyful convergence that rewards the inspiration to create, to reinvent ourselves and write our own story.”
Two Champagnes are part of the exclusive release: Lady Gaga x Dom Pérignon 2010 Brut Vintage and Lady Gaga x Dom Pérignon 2006 Brut Rosé, both in limited quantities at Angry Otter in Kitsilano (formerly Kitsilano Wine Cellar) and Marquis Wine Cellar in Vancouver.
The Lady Gaga x Dom Pérignon 2010 Brut (from $260) shines with the luminous sweetness of tropical fruit—green mango, melon, pineapple. It then cedes to more temperate notes, the tingle of orange zest, the mist of a mandarin orange. The wine breathes, revealing its freshness. The bloom after the rain. A tactile sensation of peony, jasmine and lilac. This icon pairs perfectly with nearly anything from comfort to high class, and Born This Way cranked to full volume.
Getting over a Bad Romance? The Lady Gaga x Dom Perignon 2006 Brut Rosé ($360) will make your heart whole again. The bouquet is mesmerizing, ripe, and complex. The opening notes are a blend of dark spices and cocoa which develop very quickly into fruit aromas. Fruit reigns supreme, with roasted fig and apricot and candied orange. The overall effect exudes smoky accents. Pair with plain potato chips while watching A Star is Born. —Janet Helou
