A New & Natural Shoe Collection (Win!)

March 9, 2022

As we approach Earth Day (and, really, shouldn’t every day be Earth Day at this point?) we’re proud of our pals at Native Shoes, who, continuing in their dedication to creating responsible and purpose-led footwear, have launched their Natural Influence collection, which features a new addition to the Bloom Collection: the Jericho Bloom, a slip-on silhouette with a bouncy rubber sole and a water-friendly, odour-resistant and easy-clean algae-infused EVA upper.

Alongside the new Jericho Bloom, existing classic styles include the Jefferson Bloom, Jefferson Bloom Archive and Ava Bloom and, for kiddos, the Jefferson Bloom and Phoenix Sugarlite, all available in a variety of new nature-inspired hues. Check out the fine (and earth-friendly) details below:

Jericho Bloom ($60): A spring-ready slip on silhouette with a bouncy rubber sole and water-friendly, odour-resistant and easy-clean algae-infused EVA upper.

Jefferson Bloom ($70): The Jefferson Bloom is made with algae that cleans 80L of water before you ever put them on and keeps 15 balloons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

Jefferson Bloom Archive ($60): The Jefferson Bloom in a refreshing array of spring-inspired colours.

Jefferson Bloom Child ($55): Made with repurposed algae using Rise by Bloom technology. The innovative process to craft one pair of Kids Jefferson Bloom helps to restore clean air and water back into the environment.

Phoenix Sugarlite Child ($62): Made with repurposed algae using Rise by Bloom technology. The innovative process to craft one pair of Kids Jefferson Bloom helps to restore clean air and water back into the environment.

Ava Bloom ($65): This style is derived from Native Shoes’ Bloom material, created by replacing a percentage of plastic polymer in conventional EVA shoes with repurposed Algae biomass harvested from freshwater sources.

These Mother Earth-minded styles will be launching throughout January, February and March 2022, so keep your eyes peeled, and your feet ready! —Vita Daily

My eco-friendly tip is to buy meat in bulk and either cook up several meals and freeze them or divide fresh meat into meal size portions and freeze for cooking later.

Use your freezer to store food that would otherwise go to waste. Make ice cubes with grated ginger, freeze spinach before it wilts, keep bread in the freezer so it doesn’t go moldy. Keep avocados in the fridge and bring them out to ripen a few days before you need them. Freeze bananas if you can’t eat them before they go over ripe. Use frozen bananas in smoothies and “nice” cream. The freezer is your way to save your food budget and reduce waste. @muckymoo2
