Hi Lucy! Tell us a little bit about you and what do you do!
Nice to introduce myself to VITA readers! My name is Lucy Yun, also known as BEYUNIQUE on Instagram. I am the principal of LUCKY LUCY CREATIVE INC., a Vancouver-based multi-disciplinary studio that provides creative solutions on client-based projects offering art direction, visual communication and marketing services.
How do you use your platform to impact those who follow you?
I’ve treated social media as my visual resume. It has been a place to share my work, daily life as well as a source of events and brand promotions. What I enjoy the most about social media is the connectivity with other creatives. There are so many talented people out there, I thoroughly thrive on connecting and collaborating with them.
What’s your personal style mantra?
I believe fashion is all about self-expressionism. So I try my best to stay fun, funky and fearless to create unique looks that represent my style regardless of current trends. I also love keeping my finger on the pulse on up-and-coming, emerging local and international designers.
Ah, spring! What are some of your favourite floral things to do once the warm weather hits and the blooms start popping up?
Walking around pretty neighbourhoods to photograph cherry blossoms all over the city!
What’s your all-time favourite flower to give and/or receive?
Peonies are such lovely flowers to both give and receive. They bloom so beautifully and bring bright joy and happiness!
What’s your top floral product pick?
I am OBSESSED with puffy sleeved baby doll tops and dresses! This Irish brand that I came across on Instagram, Selkie, makes such fun dresses. Isn’t this translucent floral dress with puffy sleeves so adorable?
And how about your top Pantone Very Peri picks?
This London-based designer, Yuhan Wang, has a soft, pastel periwinkle coloured ensemble. Love the juxtaposition between the dramatic sleeves and tailored waistline!
