Daily, he creates a variety of savoury focaccias using ingredients from Italy. The rosemary focaccia’s salty, crispy exterior and chewy interior combined with excellent Italian (of course) olive oil is pure bliss for the tastebuds.

There’s nothing that smells more heavenly in the morning than the aroma of a freshly brewed cup of coffee. Republica Coffee Roasters sources organic fair-trade beans from around the world. Nestled in Gasoline Alley (which dates back to the 1950s), Republica is housed in a historic building that will make you want to linger longer with your freshly brewed rich cup of java.

Into Chocolate is a chocolate and candy store that harkens back to a time of penny candy and retro delights. Delight in seeing candy and confections from your youth. We took home a small assortment of devilishly sublime chocolates handcrafted by professional chocolatier/owner, Delaine Willms, who was trained at Ecole Chocolat.

More than just dispensing medications and other pharmaceutical items, Pure Integrative Pharmacy features an organic juice and smoothie bar. Its most popular is the green smoothie, and for good reason. Having said that, all of the smoothies boost your fruits and veggies intake, and they are seriously delicious.

The casually chic and lively Saba Bistro is arguably one of Fort Langley’s favourite hangouts for  brunch, lunch or dinner. Having travelled around the globe, chef and owner Simone Hurwitz has taken her inspiration from the colours and flavours of the Mediterranean and the Middle East to craft a carte du jour that promise a memorable experience.

Fully satiated, meander through the quaint, historic village where “local and sustainable” is a movement. Fort Langley is chockfull of independent shops and boutiques offering everything from gorgeous décor, to beautiful clothing, antiques and florists. Taps (True Aromatherapy Products & Spa) is an eclectic all-natural inspired store where you’ll unearth a host of wellness products (many of which are made in-house), healing crystals, yoga and meditation accessories, candles and more.
