Drink These Douglas Coupland-Inspired Cocktails

June 8, 2022

Vancouver’s most elevated downtown hotel bar, The Lobby Lounge & RawBar, located within the Fairmont Pacific Rim, has launched a limited-run menu of art-inspired cocktails today, for one month only.

Inspired by the works of acclaimed Canadian artist, novelist and designer Douglas Coupland, the cocktails each reflect a piece from his Red Light, Green Light exhibit, currently on display in the Pacific Gallery on property. Created by award-winning beverage director Grant Sceney, the cocktails include: Dirty Harry, a vodka based cocktail, is named after Dirty Harry, 2021 a piece of art covered in glass and blown mercury glass; Clint pulls inspiration from the Wild West, with blueberries instead of bullets, named after Clint, 2021; and Tokyo Twilight is gin based and inspired by the Japanese movie from 1957, which stars actor Ineko Arima, who can be found in Douglas Coupland’s prints.

Enjoy these liquid works of art before they’re gone. —Vita Daily
