With the ongoing urgency of conversations around abortion provision and bodily autonomy, clothing brand Everlane has taken a stance by releasing a T-shirt that reads “100% My Body” across the chest—a simple statement with a bold meaning that requires no additional explanation.
The 100% My Body tee is offered in two colours (black and white) with two styles for those across the gender spectrum and will be sold for $53 online. The best part? Everlane will be donating all of the profits (with a minimum donation of $22 per shirt) to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), a non-profit organization that fights to protect civil liberties. Everlane and the ACLU have a long-running history together, with over $1 million donated through the brand’s “100% Human” collection, released in 2020.
While Everlane and the ACLU are American-based, access to abortion provision and the right to make decisions about one’s body are issues that greatly affect Canadians as well. —Vita Daily
