On September 28 and for the first time ever, our pals at Parachute will be releasing their first-ever Fair Trade-certified rug collection in Canada!
The new rug collection will feature six styles created in FT facilities, meaning that they meet rigorous social, environmental and economic standards—including safe working practices, environmental protections and transparent supply chains. They are also Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified, and so surpass the highest criterion of testing for harmful chemicals and synthetics. Handmade by traditional artisans in India, the assortment features a mix of understated and bold designs, versatile enough to warm up every space, priced from $349 to $2,519 CAD. Due to their handmade nature, the rugs have individual variations making each piece one-of-a-kind.
“This new collection of rugs is beautiful, versatile and classic. Our goal is to design pieces that can be mixed and matched and work with a variety of aesthetics, says founder and CEO Ariel Kaye. “These rugs are the perfect grounding layer to create a warm, liveable home. I’m personally drawn to our Checkered Wool Rug and the Carved Wool Rug for their simple, yet elegant appeal. It’s been three years since our first rug collection and to see so much growth in this category is a major accomplishment for the team. We hope everyone loves them!”
