Return Of The Native Shoes

September 13, 2022

We’re used to seeing Native Shoes everywhere through the summer—at the splash park, on the beach, on our feet when we’re taking out the garbage. But they always seem to go into hibernation for the winter, which is a real shame given that the Vancouver brand has two very cool cold-weather designs.

Fitzsimmons Citylite Bloom Bloom is a hiking-style boot with a grippy sole, while Johnny Treklite Bloom is microfleece-lined to keep toes cozy. Both are partly made from Rise by Bloom, a material derived from algae, reducing the amount of plastic used in the shoes. They’re water-resistant, and recyclable too, via Native Shoes’ Remix Project.

You can get both styles for adults, while little kids (up to size 3) can get the Fitzsimmons Citylite and bigger ones (size 4-6) can choose the Jonny Treklite. The collection launches late September, just in time for the weather to get really bad.

Native Shoes for fall? How groundbreaking. Whatever next—Canada Goose in the spring? Actually, yes! —Aileen Lalor
