In honour of the festival of lights, Diwali, which starts and runs throughout next week, Canadian YouTuber and former talk show host Lilly Singh is sharing and serving up the perfect cocktail just in time for celebrations, the Mango Chutney Sour. The inspiration behind the cocktail comes from Torana—meaning gateway in Sanskrit, a garland made with a combination of mango-tree leaves and marigold flowers used as a customary decoration during the Diwali holiday. Mango Chutney Sour
1.5 oz. Johnnie Walker Blue Label
1.0 oz. Lemon Juice
1.0 oz. Mango Ginger Mix:
- 0.75oz Ginger Syrup (Equal Parts Raw Ginger Juice to Granulated Sugar)
- 0.5oz Mango-Chutney (4 Parts Mango Juice to 1 part champagne vinegar)
Garnish: Candied Ginger
Glassware: Rocks Glass
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake thoroughly. Strain into rocks glass full of ice. Garnish with candied ginger.
