What better way to celebrate the spirit of the holiday season than to connect with local seniors, and give them a helping hand, to boot?
Home Instead is launching Be a Santa to a Senior to help Vancouver seniors celebrate the holidays. This year, the program hopes to collect gifts for more than 250 Vancouver seniors. Though these gifts are small, they make a big impact in the lives of area seniors. It’s simple to participate. Just visit BeASantatoASenior.ca and enter your postal code to find a tree near you. Trees are up across the city now, decorated with ornaments that include a gift request for a local senior. Then, purchase the gift and, from there, the item will be safely delivered by program volunteers.
With your help, we can all share some holiday happiness with those who may be feeling isolated and overlooked at this time of year. —Vita Daily
