Joggers have become a staple in most of our wardrobes. I used to limit wearing joggers only around the house and then switch into different pants/jeans when going out to run errands, pick the kids up from school, etc. Not anymore! I have kicked up my jogger game to allow for me wearing them all day long, in and out of the house, and all while feeling completely put together.
Now, I will say, not all joggers are created equal. I definitely have some that are more just for those cosy days at home, while others are ones that are a little more stylish and have all the comfort but offer style versatility. One of the pairs I have in constant rotation are my Hernest Kadin Slouch Joggers ($139, now on sale for $79, these stunning joggers come in two colours, oatmeal and outerspace navy blue and are offered in 4XL-XXS). They are made with a buttery soft Tencel and an organic cotton blend. The slouchy cut of the rise allows them to be worn as a high rise, mid rise, or low rise. They have added some chic seam details to give them a more polished look and they have pockets. The lightweight breathability makes them great year-round.
So how do we take this uber casual staple out into the world? Here are two ways to have style and comfort working seamlessly together. —Jen Pistor
Look 1: Monochrome
I’ll take all the blue please! A monochrome outfit is a surefire way to elevate any outfit. The key is to mix textures for more visual interest. The tee I’m wearing is a knit and gives depth to the look. The denim button up is oversized and plays with the proportions giving more interest to the outfit. A simple white runner and off white tote tie everything together giving even more texture.
Look 2: Fresh White
White is a hue I look forward to wearing every spring/summer. It’s fresh and bright and pairs with pretty much everything. Sometimes less is more. Sticking to simple pieces like this organic cotton white sweater adds texture while keeping the outfit looking streamlined. A white sweater is also an amazing transition piece for this time of year when we are still needing warmth but want to lighten and brighten things up. If the idea of a navy jogger and white sweater feels too safe and simple for you, don’t underestimate the power of some key accessories. Here I added in a pretty little leather crossbody bag, co-ordinating white runners and a pair of quirky, oversized sunglasses to keep some sartorial edge to the ensemble.
