5 Ways To Taste Vancouver’s Annual Cherry Blossom Festival

April 3, 2023

From now until April 23, here’s where to eat and drink as you celebrate the annual coming of the Sakura or cherry blossoms. —Catherine Dunwoody

Try the Tokyo Rendezvous at Gotham Steakhouse and Bar, a delightful blend of Roku gin infused with hibiscus flowers, Choya yuzu liqueur, Giffard hibiscus syrup and lavender bitters.

Coast Restaurant celebrates spring with a variety of Sakura-themed sushi, seafood and desserts throughout the month of April.

We love a good play on a name, especially the Cherry Springer Sour at Smitty’s Oyster House on Main St., which contains vodka, maraschino cherry syrup and fresh citrus.

A stroll around Granville Island to check out our favourite pink blooms might just end in a nosh at The Sandbar to try the special Sakura Roll with avocado and spicy tuna.

How about a perfect little Sakura-inspired dessert? Pretty as a picture, this Saint Honoré from Ladurée Paris tastes as gorgeous as it looks.
