Music in the mountains is returning to Whistler Olympic Plaza with a summer of free open-air music experiences.
The series will begin with Symphony at Whistler Olympic Plaza featuring the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) on June 29. Then, Whistler’s Summer Concert Series kicks off on July 1 with critically acclaimed Juno Award-winning Canadian treasures Blackie and The Rodeo Kings featuring musical guests Daniel Lanois and Terra Lightfoot.
There are now 14 nights of free music as the concert series has expanded with the addition of Thursday and Friday nights for most of July and the entire month of August. Each evening’s programming will start at 6:30 p.m., with live opening DJ sets before the headlining performers take the stage at 7:30 p.m. There will be complimentary secured bike parking for those who choose to pedal along the Valley Trail to the event, to support Whistler’s climate action strategy.
Among the performers: Bedouin Soundclash, Bruce Cockburn and The Original Wailers. Find out more online. —Vita Daily
