5 New Reasons To Visit Whistler This Summer

Whistler is a destination that can be enjoyed year-round but summer is when it blooms with local bounty. Here are five reasons to check out Whistler this summer! —Bronwyn Lewis

Four Seasons Resort Whistler has partnered with local florist Senka to celebrate Summer in Bloom. The hotel spa is offering floral treatments. There are also botanically-inspired cocktails at Braidwood Tavern including the beverage bouquet, Bruce’s Garden.

Every weekend you can catch a free show as part of the Whistler Summer Concert Series. The Whistler Olympic Plaza has a lovely lawn for a picnic, and the charcuterie boxes and boards of your dreams can be picked up from Picnic Whistler. They also have everything from plates to pillows.

Mekong is a brand new Thai restaurant opening in Whistler this month, inspired by founder Pepe Barajas’ travels to Thailand and informed by Chef Angus An, of Vancouver’s Maenam. Mekong will be serving a fresh and vibrant menu with take-out options as well.

Go Whistler offers free Self-Guided Tours on their app, and in celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21 they are launching a new self-guided tour to learn about the land now known as Whistler, which is the unceded territory of the Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh and Líl̓wat Nations.

An exclusive summer dining opportunity is offered by the Audain Art Museum Artist Dinner Series. Inspired by Japan’s summer festivals as well as art by Manabu Ikeda, Chef Koji Chiba serves a six-course omakase menu with wine and sake pairings, and guests also receive a tour.
