  5. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water before and during the flight. Staying hydrated helps keep the mucous membranes in your Eustachian tubes moist, making it easier for them to equalize pressure.
  6. Avoid Sleeping During Descent: Try to stay awake during the descent portion of the flight. When you are awake, you can actively work on equalizing the pressure in your ears using the techniques mentioned above.
  7. Nasal Decongestants: If you have nasal congestion or a cold, using a nasal decongestant spray before the flight may help reduce ear discomfort. However, it’s important to follow the instructions and guidelines provided by your healthcare professional and the product’s packaging.
