Township 7 Chardonnay 2021 from the Okanagan Valley is full-bodied, sophisticated, and fabulous served with smoked salmon crostini.
Singletree’s Siegerrebe is a wonderful aromatic sip, cool-fermented in stainless steel to maintain its fresh aromatics, and a spritz finish with lush, balanced mouthfeel. Not every BC winery grows this grape, so give it a go.
Solvero Wines is a brand-new BC winery in Summerland’s Garnet Valley, and the name means truth in soil. Try the Pinot Gris, which is soft and inviting, with notes of stone fruit, pear, and honey.
Catalunya Torres Vina Esmeralda is a semi-dry from sunny Spain, and a blend of Moscatel de Alejandría and Gewürztraminer. With delicate rose and lychee notes, it’s soft on the palate and lovely with seafood salad.
Chronos Sauvignon Blanc from BC’s Time Family of wines is downright gorgeous, with its orange blossom and passion fruit notes.
New Garnet Valley Ranch Chardonnay has a delicate acidity, long finish and is downright ethereal.
Casal Garcia Vinho Verde is a classic, bargain-priced, semi-dry from Portugal. A typical vinho verde with tangy energy and citrus finish. Serve very cold and paired with oysters, it’s a summer patio staple.
Leyda Reserva Sauvignon Blanc from Chile is nice with soft cheese and presents with an herbal and citrus blend that seems right in summertime.
BC winery Blasted Church just won silver medals at the National Wine Awards for their Pinot Gris. With its orchard fruit and citrus carrying through the mid-palate and into the well-balanced finish, this truly is a winner at your dinner table.
Villa Maria Chardonnay from New Zealand has notes of peach, citrus and fig, with a touch of oak. If you’ve been sipping NZ Sauvignon Blanc only, it’s time to give their Chardonnay a whirl.
