With no shortage of patios on Mount Pleasant, it’s easy to make a day of grabbing a few snacks and drinks outside. These are five of our favourite Mount Pleasant patios. —Bronwyn Lewis
Como Taperia has a sunny patio that is perfect for their happy hour (or any hour). On a few Sundays this summer, the patio transforms into an outdoor kitchen/stage, as Como welcomes the Paella Guys to cook their signature dish. Those with patio seats get to enjoy the sunshine and the show.
Anh and Chi has one of the most beautiful patios on Main Street. Actually, they have two: the all season patio and the seasonal street-side patio. The plantings around both create a lush atmosphere perfect for summer cocktails or share plates.
Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions has cleverly retrofitted an entire house into their slick bar which features a front and back patio. The space is new but has a retro feel, maybe because there’s astro turf on the ground and an adult slushie in your hand.
City Centre is a Main Street landmark. The multi-coloured artist lodge is hosting outdoor events for the Vancouver Mural Festival from August 4-13th. Some are ticketed but the four day Mount Pleasant Street Party is free.
For a hidden gem patio in Mount Pleasant, check out The Farmhouse. Tucked away behind the 10th Ave restaurant, Farmhouse’s garden patio is hung with lights and surrounded with plants. It’s a lovely setting for an evening glass of wine and plate of pasta.
