While we can tell that crisp autumn days are just around the corner (seriously, we may have spotted some Halloween candy already available to purchase), we’re hanging on to summer days and outdoor activities for as long as possible. Below are our top five products to savour the rest of summer. —Vicki Duong
maddle. Living on the West Coast has its perks. With its endless access to water and the different adventures associated with it, paddleboarding is a go-to. We’ve been loving the Maddle ($700) offerings because not only do they come in a variety of fun prints and colours, but it’s also inflatable making it ultra lightweight and easy to transport. Once you’re done making a splash, the paddleboard easily deflates and folds down easily into an included backpack.
roam. There’s alot about summer to love, but it’s not without annoying elements as well. While we love nights on the patio, we don’t love the bug bites that come with being outside. While there are plenty of insect sprays on the market, it can be difficult to find a formula that dries down nicely on the skin, not to mention, remembering to reapply throughout the day can be challenging. Enter Roam’s Wild outdoor candle ($36), a natural bug repellent that suits any outdoor space. Just light it and let the natural blend and scent elevate your space.
kathmandu. No matter what your agenda entails, the option to go hands-free is always convenient. We’ve been reaching for our Kamana belt bag ($60) from Kathmandu for everyday organisation. Not only is the adjustable strap easy to wear across your waist or as a crossbody, but it has a short carry cord that will help deter tampering making it ideal for daily wear.
kamik. Part of braving the elements is making sure you have the right footwear to keep each stride supported and comfortable. Currently on rotation is the Syros ($100) from Kamik, an option that provides the breeziness of a sandal with the cushioning of a sneaker. The lug sole provides extra traction on rocky terrain, plus they’re 100 per cent machine washable!
elizabeth arden. We are big advocates for sunscreen year-round, but a good sunscreen is even more essential during the summer. Higher temps means your skin is more susceptible to sun damage and finding a good sunscreen that is easy to reapply is a summer staple. We’ve been adoring the PREVAGE City Smart ($98) from Elizabeth Arden, a combination sunscreen and moisturizer that provides SPF 50+ protection as well as antioxidants.
