Pride Parade Morning Rainbow Smoothie

August 6, 2023

Making a rainbow smoothie is not only delicious but also visually stunning! To create a vibrant rainbow effect, you’ll use a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables. Here’s a step-by-step guide to making a colorful and nutritious rainbow smoothie:

Ingredients:

  • Red Layer: Strawberries, raspberries, or red dragon fruit
  • Orange Layer: Oranges, mangoes, or papayas
  • Yellow Layer: Pineapple, bananas, or yellow bell peppers
  • Green Layer: Spinach, kale, or kiwis
  • Blue Layer: Blueberries or blue spirulina (for a natural blue color)
  • Purple Layer: Blackberries, purple grapes, or acai berries
  • Water or a liquid of your choice (e.g., coconut water, almond milk, or fruit juice)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fruits and Vegetables:
    • Wash and peel the fruits and vegetables as needed. Remove any pits or seeds from the fruits.
  2. Blend Each Layer:
    • For each layer, blend the corresponding fruit or vegetable with a little water or your chosen liquid until you get a smooth consistency. Start with small amounts of liquid and add more if necessary to achieve the desired thickness. You can also add a sweetener like agave syrup or maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter taste.
  3. Layer the Smoothie:
    • Start with the densest layer first. Typically, the purple or blue layer is at the bottom, followed by green, yellow, orange, and finally red on top. This order will help the colors stand out better.
    • Carefully pour each layer into your serving glass one at a time, using a spoon or spatula to spread the layer evenly and avoid mixing the colors.
  4. Add Garnishes (Optional):
    • To enhance the rainbow effect, you can garnish the top of the smoothie with colorful fruit slices or seeds.
  5. Serve and Enjoy!
    • Once you’ve layered all the colors, your rainbow smoothie is ready to be enjoyed. Take a straw and start sipping from the top to see the beautiful rainbow effect with each sip.

Remember that the intensity of the colors depends on the fruits and vegetables you use, so feel free to experiment with different combinations. The key is to have fun and be creative while enjoying a nutritious and visually appealing treat! —Vita Daily
