Vancouver’s La Fraise Rose Unveils Chocolate Strawberries in LA

A sweet Vancouver treat is readying itself to fly to California, but the all-female team that makes it needs our help. La Fraise Rose, based in Vancouver, crafts divine chocolate-covered strawberries, edible fruit arrangements and flowers. Now, they’re about launch its Kickstarter campaign, aiming to take their mouthwatering wares to the sun-kissed streets of Los Angeles. We chatted with one Nicole Lorenzana to learn more. —Vita Daily

Hi Nicole! When and why did you launch La Fraise Rose? 

Hi, thank you for having me! I started La Fraise Rose back in 2021, it began as a home-based business, a side hustle while I was in school full time during Covid and also navigating being a new mom to my three-month-old at the time.

What niche were/are you aiming to fill?

From the beginning I always envisioned a company focused on art and design. Being a natural creative, I wanted an outlet to fulfill my imagination all while having fun doing it!

What products/services do you currently offer? What makes them so unique?

We currently offer high-quality Belgian chocolate-dipped strawberries, edible fruit arrangements, as well as flowers and gifts. We take pride in creating aesthetically pleasing products and making sure they taste delicious, too.

What are some of your best-selling chocolate-covered strawberry flavours/bouquets … and which one is YOUR personal fave?!

Our best-seller is the Elegant box, which comes in white chocolate, with hints of pink, and a variety of assorted toppings such as dried mango, honeydew, pistachios and edible 24k gold. My personal favourite would be our milk chocolate!

There’s a give-back component to your business; can you tell us about that?

As a local business we try to do what we can to give back to organizations that mean something to us. We support female entrepreneurship, victims of sexual abuse, and we also donate most of our leftover strawberries so they can go to people in need.

Now you’re looking to bring your chocolate-covered strawberries to the U.S! Tell us about your campaign, and how people can get involved.

We’ve recently launched our Kickstarter campaign on August 8th, which lasts until September 7th. Our goal is to raise around $50,000 USD to help fund our dream of expanding to Los Angeles and opening up a second location there.
