Our friends at Wildflower Mercantile (famed for their wallpapers) just launched new hand-embroidered dolls, the Garden Girls. These unique dolls are handmade on Vancouver Island with five per cent of sales proceeds from each doll going toward the Wildflower Kids Scholarship Fund.
The foundation provides much-needed funding to help families access specialist support services. It came to be after Emily Yewchuk, owner of Wildflower, struggled to find private services like speech-language pathologists, psychologists, private diagnostics centre and more for her own child. Emily also sits on the board member of the Comox Valley Child Development Association. She is dedicated to giving back to the community through the scholarship fund and the sale of the Garden Girls.
The Garden Girls are exclusive to Wildflower Mercantile available both online and in-store retailing for $166 each, which includes a full outfit, backpack for their adventures, personalized stories and a name. —Vita Daily
