5 Recipes For Your Excess Halloween Pumpkin Seeds

Everyone carving pumpkins will end up with the same thing: a big bowl of gooey pumpkin seeds. Once washed and baked at 300 degrees Celsius on parchment paper for 30 minutes, they can be tossed in any seasoning mix you’d like, whether sweet or savoury. If you divide up the seeds, you can even try multiple flavours. Here are our five favourite recipes for roasted pumpkin seeds. —Julia Dumbrell

Spicy BBQ

This spicy BBQ recipe will taste even smokier if you substitute smoked salt for regular. Toss the seeds in the spice mix and roast for an additional 10-15 minutes.

1 cup of pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp salt (or smoked salt)
1 tsp chipotle pepper

Dill Pickle

This recipe will make you pumpkin seeds taste just like dill pickle potato chips. Toss the seeds in the spice mix and roast for an additional 10-15 minutes.

1 cup pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp dried or fresh dill
1 tbsp white vinegar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Salt and black pepper

Pumpkin Spice

It only seems natural to toss some pumpkin seeds in their namesake spice. After coating the seeds, roast for an additional 10-15 minutes.

1 cup pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp neutral oil (canola, avocado, peanut etc)
1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tbsp brown sugar
Sprinkle of salt

Italian

These Italian pumpkin seeds would make a great topper to a salad or even as a crunchy garnish on your favourite pizza. Toss the seeds in the spice mix and roast for an additional 10-15 minutes.

1 cup pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/3 cup of grated parmesan
Salt and pepper

Ranch

You can mix your own custom ranch seasoning or pick up a package of your favourite brand. Toss the seeds in the spice mix and roast for an additional 10-15 minutes.

1 cup pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dried or fresh dill
1/4 tsp dried mustard
1/4 tsp celery seed
Pepper
