The Foundation Of Your Makeup Routine

December 7, 2023

The quest for the perfect foundation can be a never-ending task. Luckily for us the days of cakey-ness and flakey-ness are a distant memory, along with unfortunate and limited shade ranges. Perhaps we have overcompensated with the vast array of foundations available today, and as we’re sure you can relate, there is a lot on the market to sift through. A trip to Sephora provides luxury formulations, different price points and 40+ shade matching at every turn—but trust us, your perfect foundation and formula is out there. We explored the world of foundations and enlisted the help of a few makeup-artist friends to hear what they love in the world of luxury, drug store and celebrity makeup lines. —Lauren Walker-Lee

Beauty Counter Skin Twin Featherweight Foundation, $65: Not one of the usual suspects but this Beauty Counter foundation is worth the price tag. Great bang for your buck,” says Caitlin Cullimore, celebrity and commercial makeup artist and contributor to The Social.
