As the holidays are quickly approaching my mind may have shifted to what to buy for loved ones, that doesn’t mean I didn’t find some new favourites to add to my own rotation. Below are some of my newly found faves from the month of November. —Vicki Duong
kylie power plush concealer. When it comes to shopping for concealer, I want one that can do it all. Not only do I want to cover up blemishes, but I also want to be able to target dark circles and overall redness. Not only does the Kylie Cosmetics’ Power Plush Concealer ($33) check every box, but it blurs and brightens while providing a skin-like satin finish.
prohibition shower gel. Much like everyone else on TikTok, I’ve been obsessed with everything showers. Right now for the most decadent everything shower I’ve been reaching for the Prohibition Shower Gel ($44) that features a modern and sophisticated scent and luxe package with gold tone font and details.
avène hydrance boost. This time of year when the temperatures begin to drop and the cold weather leaves my skin feeling more stressed out and dehydrated. Enter the concentrated hydrating serum ($51) by Avène, a hyaluronic acid and vitamin B3 blend that leaves you glowy without added weight or stickiness.
smashbox always on foundation. Every now and again I encounter a product that is love upon first application. That was the newest complexion formula ($57) from Smashbox for me.The foundation applies beautifully with a sponge or a brush while providing a medium-buildable coverage with a skin-like finish, plus the addition of hyaluronic acid boost hydration levels.
musoap matcha body scrub. Not all body scrubs are made the same and Musoap’s latest addition is a testament to the brand’s commitment to skincare that actually cares. Partnering with local fave, Whisk Matcha, this natural body scrub ($32) features real ground matcha from Japan while sugar provides light exfoliation.
milk makeup matte cream bronzer stick. I’ve been missing my summer tan but that doesn’t mean my skin can’t be bronzed and glowy. The small but mighty Milk Makeup Bronzer Stick ($33) has been my secret weapon for a sunkissed look. The formula is ultra creamy and blends like a dream. Don’t let the small size fool you, these sticks have been tested to last over a thousand swipes!
la roche-posay micellar water. Part of maintaining good skin is making sure you are thoroughly cleansing. While I love to double cleanse, adding an additional step can ensure that every trace of stubborn eye makeup is also removed. With a selection of formulas for different skin types, the La Roche-Posay micellar waters ($24) has become a vanity staple. It’s effective and best of all, it requires no harsh rubbing.
clinique moisture surge face spray. If you’re someone who loves a facial or skin procedure, you’ll know that pre and post care are just as important as the treatment itself. Moisture Surge Spray ($39) is an easy-to-use mist that prevents dehydration while also repairing the skin’s moisture barrier. It also reduces the likelihood of breakouts and infections.
lise watier stardust glitter liner & shadow. Adding a touch of shimmer to your look with these glitter liners ($30) that double as shadows. The water-based formula makes it easy to spread and is impactful on its own or as a glittery topper. My fave shade is North Star, a glittery black that adds a striking look to your next cat eye.
tweezerman x jones road lash kit. Even the best products can’t always be one size fits all which the case for a good lash curler. Fret not, Tweezerman makes various curlers designed for different eye shapes, such as round or almond. I love how this curler sits comfortably along my lash line without pinching. Bonus: just in time for the holidays they’ve collaborated with Jones Road to offer a limited edition set ($48) that comes with the curler and a lengthening mascara.
