January Reset @ Fairmont Pacific Rim

January 16, 2024

Feeling worn out after the frantic festive season? Need a post-holiday getaway or staycation to relax and recharge? Look no further than Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel. Whether you’re a local or visiting the city, this ultramodern hotel is the ultimate destination for luxury and pampering, with a casual and welcoming vibe that will make you feel right at home. Trust me, it won’t disappoint.

As soon as you enter ‌ the Lobby Lounge, you’re immersed in a blend of innovative interior design, art, music and fashion. The centre stage hosts a rotation of emerging artists, while ongoing performances include fashion shows, ballet performances and illusionists. Spanning the lobby to the second floor landing, the Pacific Gallery showcases rotating exhibitions by local Vancouver artists, as well as international and commissioned works. Currently, the gallery is hosting an exhibition called ‘In The Moment’ by Ema Peter, an acclaimed architectural photojournalist, that captures the essence of people interacting with iconic architectural landmarks from around the globe.

The dining experience at the Pac Rim is an absolute highlight. You have three fantastic options to choose from, each with its own unique style and cuisine. At Botanist, Executive Chef Hector Laguna has crafted a fine-dining menu that showcases the region’s best cuisine. Think locally sourced produce, sustainably caught seafood like butter-poached lobster and black pepper-crusted salmon and organic ingredients from local farmers. The restaurant’s elegant design, with lush greenery and natural elements, creates a serene and enchanting atmosphere that perfectly complements the culinary delights.

If you’re in the mood for something more casual, head to Giovane Café, just off the lobby. This charming spot offers Italian-inspired dishes, pastries and coffee in a rustic and chic setting. And for a glamorous and lively experience, check out the Lobby Lounge and RawBar. Enjoy live music, sip on delicious cocktails and indulge in mouth-watering sushi. The venue’s dazzling and modern design, featuring velvet, gold and crystal accents, sets the stage for a memorable night out. Plus, the people-watching here is top-notch, with scenesters and socialites mingling and partying.

Guest rooms and suites ooze luxury and style, with a clean and luxurious aesthetic featuring white marble, warm walnut wood and opulent fabrics. Television-mirrors, media connectivity panels, LCD televisions with surround sound and iPads provide a fully interactive experience. The bathrooms are spacious and spa-like, complete with soaker tubs and spa showers. And the views? Breathtaking. You’ll be treated to stunning water, mountain and cityscape views.

Nordic nirvana: But the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel doesn’t stop at just luxurious accommodations. If pampering and relaxation are what you seek, they have you covered. The resort-style Forbes Five-Star Willow Stream Spa is a sanctuary of tranquility, offering numerous treatments and therapies that will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. From massages to facials and other wellness rituals, you’ll be in good hands. And don’t miss out on the heated pool and hot tub for outdoor relaxation. For a truly unique experience, try the Nordic Spa. This self-guided outdoor thermal spa involves alternating between hot tubs, cold plunge tubs and a cedar plank sauna to stimulate circulation, reduce inflammation and boost energy levels. It’s a holistic and healing experience that will awaken your senses and revitalize your spirit.

The Nordic Spa experience is available daily for hotel guests at $35 per person for a ninety-minute time slot. For locals, it’s $149 per person for a three-hour experience from Monday to Thursday, which also includes access to the Willow Stream Spa facilities. Remember to make reservations in advance, either online or by phone.
