With warmer days upon us, we’ve got a cool drink that’s refreshing and irresistibly delicious. Designed with layers of flavour, the Spicy Mango Marg at Match Eatery & Public House is luscious and zingy. It is the perfect complement to a day out on the deck and is a fun variation on the classic margarita. —Vita Daily
Spicy Mango Marg
1.5oz Thai Chili-Infused Blanco Tequila* (we use El Jimador)
.5oz triple sec
.5oz Giffard mango syrup
.75oz fresh lime juice
Create a deep, half rim on a rocks glass using Tajin & Kosher Salt Rim**. Combine ingredients into a shaker tin. Add ice, close the shaker tin and shake vigorously until ideal chill, dilution and balance is achieved. Add fresh ice to the rimmed rocks glass. Using a Hawthorne strainer, strain the mixture into the glass. Garnish the drink with one pickled Thai chili pepper.
*Thai Chili Infused Blanco Tequila
1x 750ml bottle of blanco tequila
2 pc pickled Thai chili
Add a small amount of the tequila ( ~ 4 oz) into a blender or food processor. Add the chilis. Blend on high for 30 seconds to a minute, or until the chilis are broken down fully. Add remainer of tequila, and stir to combine ingredients. Strain mixture through cheesecloth folded 4 times (a coffee filter works too). Using a funnel, return the tequila to the tequila bottle for use.
**Tajin & Kosher Salt Rim
1 cup Tajin
1 cup Kosher salt
Combine ingredients in a dry container and mix with a spoon until ingredients are combined. Store at room temperature.
