Virginie Viard brough us Chanel’s Resort 2025 collection this week on a rooftop terrace in the South of France’s Marseille, a fitting spot for a French cruise show. For this collection Viard infused Chanel’s quintessential elements – tweed suiting, pearls and quilted leather with modern takes. This included upgrading the Chanel tweed blazer to an oversized silhouette, that Hailey Beiber and street style bloggers alike would approve of. The classic strings of pearls and earrings also received an enhancement, opting for a chunky profile, which we have seen a trend towards, including Celine’s F/W 2024 Collection and from South Korean designer Kimhekim.
As ballet flats make their way back into our wardrobe brands have been finding unique ways to repurpose the classic shoe. This season, it girl brand, The Row, brought us mesh sock flats, while Cher Horowitz’s favourite designer, Alaïa has us daring to bare it all in fishnet flats.
